Accessibility statement

This statement applies to newbuildleakdetection.co.uk. It was written on 15 September 2026 and describes what has actually been checked, not a certificate.

What we have aimed for

The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Every page uses real headings in order, landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer, a skip link, and text that can be resized to 200 percent without loss of content. Text colours were measured against their backgrounds for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 (3 to 1 for large text and controls).

Everything that can be done with a mouse can be done with a keyboard: the menu, the questions and answers, the house drawing on the home page (its six areas are real buttons) and every link. Keyboard focus is always visible. Animation is limited to one small drawing-in mark on the home page and a moving marker on the visit sequence; both are switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.

Photographs carry descriptions of what they show, and illustrative photographs say so in their captions.

What has been tested

Before publication the site was checked in a desktop and a mobile browser at widths from 320 to 1920 pixels, with keyboard-only navigation, with reduced motion on, and with automated checks for contrast, heading order, alt text and page structure. Every page was read at 200 percent text size.

Known limitations

  • The site has not yet been tested by a screen-reader specialist. The structure has been built for screen readers, but that is not the same as an independent assessment.
  • The house drawing on the home page is a picture with a text description; the detail in it is repeated in words beside it rather than being navigable inside the picture.
  • The tables in the guides scroll sideways on narrow phones.
  • The Trustpilot website, which we link to, is run by another company and has its own accessibility statement.
